New Beginnings (2/1-2/24)
Fri, February 1, 2019 - Sun, February 24, 2019
New Beginnings Art Exhibit
February 1-24, 2019
Opening Reception: Friday, February 1 from 7-9pm
The EPA estimates that 75% of the American waste stream is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30% of it. People have taken to eBay and CraigsList for years to rehome their used goods in exchange for cash, and now many are utilizing give-away sites like Freecycle.org and BuyNothing too. Artists are often among the most conscientious recyclers, by reusing others’ discards to create unique art.
Join us at Del Ray Artisans from February 1-24, 2019 for New Beginnings art exhibit featuring beautiful artwork created by reuse. These creations incorporate at least half of their materials from either found objects, recycled materials or older works of art. Meet the curator and some of the artists at the opening reception on Friday, February 1 from 7-9pm.
Four workshops are scheduled during this show – register before they fill up!
- Wire-Wrapped Gemstone and Crystal Rings Workshop on February 7, 6-8pm
- Making Cards Workshop on February 10, 6-8pm
- Found It – Make It – Wear It (Jewelry) Workshop on February 12, 7-9pm
- Playing with Resin Workshop on February 19, 6-9pm
