Different artists from a variety of media categories will be selected for each weekend. Artists who apply by the deadline will be notified of acceptance by September 20. Del Ray Artisans members and non-members are eligible\, so apply now! Members receive priority and a discount. \nAll work sold at the Holiday Market must be handmade by the artist selling the work and originals need to have been made within the last 3 years. Reproductions are acceptable as long as the original was made by the artist within the last 3 years. \nWe are anticipating an in-person event this year; however\, changes in the pandemic landscape may alter these plans. DESCRIPTION:Workshop: Creative Consciousness: A 7-Week Artist’s Way Program\nDate/Time: Thursdays from 6:30-8pm\, starting July 29 through Sept 9 (7 weeks total)\nInstructor: Sharon Burton\nCost: $100 Del Ray Artisans member / $125 non-member\nClass size: 5-12 participants\n(Register by midnight on July 28) \nRegister now for the Creative Consciousness: A 7-Week Artist’s Way Course based on “The Listening Path: The Creative art of Attention”\, the latest book by Julia Cameron.  This course\, facilitated by Sharon Burton\, will meet once a week for seven weeks via Zoom. \nEach week we will read a chapter from this new take on the principles of “The Artist’s Way”\, complete weekly exercises designed for creative and personal transformation to make you a better listener to your environment\, your relationships\, and yourself. This course will help students embrace a new world of creativity that will resonate through all aspects of your life. The support of other creatives will assist you on this journey of self discovery. Artists\, writers\, and other creatives as well  are encouraged to participate. \nStudents must purchase or have access to the book “The Listening Path: The Creative Art of Attention” by Julia Cameron and a dedicated journal for the program. The course will be held online via Zoom on Thursdays from 6:30-8pm\, starting July 29 through September 9. \nRegister Now \n\nAbout the Instructor: Sharon J. Burton is an artist\, art curator\, and creative life advisor\, and member of Del Ray Artisans. She is a self-taught visual artist whose preferred medium is collage and mixed media and has exhibited her art in galleries\, art venues and other settings across the country since 2007. Sharon has curated a number of art exhibitions in the Washington\, DC area since 2005 and has served as an art consultant for novice art collectors. \nSince 2007\, Sharon’s artwork has been shown in juried exhibitions\, galleries and alternative art spaces in the following cities: New York City\, Philadelphia\, Baltimore\, Columbia\, Maryland\, Silver Spring\, Maryland\, Washington\, DC\, Lorton\, Virginia and Atlanta\, Georgia. All entries are to be received digitally\, and no physical pieces of art will be collected. There is no entry fee\, no theme\, and work previously shown at Del Ray Artisans is acceptable. Your Del Ray Artisans membership must be up-to-date. \nThe Calendar Selection Committee will choose approximately 50-60 pieces of art from Del Ray Artisans members to be included in the 2022 Wall Calendar.
