Matt will discuss the joys\, hazards\, and equipment associated with diving under ice or deeper than 130 feet. Divers must bring their own light and warmth\, maintain the oxygen needed to support life while avoiding toxicity\, and manage the risks as nitrogen goes from inert to both narcotic and hazardous. Matt will provide photographs\, media\, and stories from his own dives and resources for exploring the broader world of technical diving. \nThis free talk is held in conjunction with The Unseen art exhibit at Del Ray Artisans gallery (February 3-25\, 2023). \nThe talk will be online through the Zoom platform. It is a hybrid show that combines a National Ceramic Cup Show focused on drinking vessels; with a regional two-dimensional and non-ceramic three-dimensional show that echoes these themes. \nJoin us online on Saturday\, October 8 at 7:30pm for Cocktails with the Curator. Stephen Lally\, curator of the Return to Eating\, Drinking\, and Merriment exhibit\, will share his vision for this hybrid exhibit\, share details about the award winners (selected by juror Jeremy Wallace)\, and answer questions. \nThe online platform allows for participants from across the country to attend. We hope it inspires you to sign up to participate in our Creative Card Swap. \n \nIn 2020 the “We’re all in this Together” Card Swap was started to keep artists connected to each other during the pandemic. The activity was so popular it became an ongoing\, recurring Del Ray Artisans program now called Creative Card Swap. Two years after we began to swap and with over seventy-five artists around the country having participated\, the 40th swap group is now forming. \nArtists sign up for a one-time exchange (or “swap”) of handmade cards within a group of four participants.
