Whether abstract or representational\, each student will come away with a new understanding of how to construct a work of art that conveys the essence of their own personal connection to a particular city. \nThe supply fee includes all materials. DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Camille Kouyoumdjian\nDate/Time: Saturday\, January 13\, 10am-12pm\nCost: $35 Del Ray Artisans member / $45 Non-member; plus a $15 Supply Fee\nClass size: 5-20 participants\n(Register by midnight on January 10) \n“Earth’s Abundance” by Camille Kouyoumdjian\nLearn to make your own recycled\, hand-painted papers and use them in a collage. Collect landscape photos of places that are meaningful to you and bring them to the class along with old magazines\, photocopied photos\, newspapers\, maps\, and other paper materials. The workshop will include a short demo on making hand-painted papers. We will go over value and color\, and think about our compositions. You will then arrange your own composition with your torn papers and glue it to heavyweight paper.  \nYou should bring several photocopied images of landscapes that are meaningful to you (preferably images you’ve taken yourself)\, as well as any recyclable paper materials (such as newspaper\, magazines\, and tissue paper) you’d like to include. In this thought-provoking one-hour presentation\, we will explore why youth voices are at the forefront of the climate movement\, the disproportionate impact of climate change on marginalized communities and their struggles with food insecurity\, and the compelling role of art in addressing these pressing issues. \nRegistration ends 15 minutes before the presentation. This webinar will be online through the Zoom platform.
