Inspired by Antoni Gaudí’s famous mosaic lizard in Park Güell, Barcelona, this activity blends art, architecture, and math.

Participants will design a cardboard lizard, apply joint compound to sculpt a 3D form, and create a mosaic using patterns, colors, and repetition—just like Gaudí’s iconic style. Along the way, explore form, texture, symmetry, and the mathematical principles of tessellation used in mosaic design.

Learn how cultural heritage and creative engineering combine in Gaudí’s work, and make your own masterpiece using provided materials—or bring your own mosaic tiles and rhinestones to personalize it!

This hands-on, family-friendly workshop is perfect for all ages and experience levels—including children under 12.
