Sketchcrawling in the Summer

Sessions: June 30, July 28, and August 25
Class size: 3-15 participants
Register in advance. Registration ends at 6pm the Friday before each session. Participants may bring their own supplies, or purchase supplies from the instructor during their session.

Improve your skills in visual storytelling by creating images from direct observation that convey a sense of space and a moment in time.

Sign up for one, two, or three “on the go” sessions to practice quick interior or exterior drawings done in one sitting. The facilitator will suggest different compositional approaches to sketching in ink, pencil, or watercolor. Participants will then spend their time putting those suggestions into practice by making casual figure, portrait, cafe, or street drawings. Participants also have the option to reconvene during the last 15 minutes of the session to share their drawings with the group or publish them on social media.

Each session will have a different focus:

• June 30:  Documentary Drawing – A sense of place
• July 28:  People and Motion – A moment in time
• August 25:  Color Media – On the go
