RESCHEDULED: No Gaps or Overlaps: Learning Tessellation (Ages 8 and up)

Tue, June 22, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am EDT

This workshop is being rescheduled. New date coming soon.

Online Workshop: No Gaps or Overlaps: Learning Tessellation
Date/Time: Tuesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 24 from 10-11am
Instructor: Bridget Anthony-Hlioui
Class size: 5-20 participants
(Register by midnight on June 19)

This workshop was developed to teach young students the art of tessellation, integrating measurement and geometric concepts. It addresses the need for online educational art activities that provide meaningful ways for students to connect with their world. Upon the completion of the course, students will have a better understanding of how artists use math and geometry to beautify spaces and communicate ideas.

This workshop will meet online (via Google Meet) in two sessions: Tuesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 24. Each individual session is held for one hour from 10-11am and is structured to accommodate younger attention spans while encouraging independent work after the first session. However, all ages are welcome.

This workshop is taught by Bridget Anthony-Hlioui, a veteran educator, art curriculum developer, Certified Art Therapy Life Coach, and working artist who incorporates her love of geometry in her own artwork.

Parents know their children best; if your child will need assistance or encouragement, Bridget will be happy to work with you so you can stay close during instruction.
