Come learn how to make a classic Persian treat called Tut. These delightful, bite-sized sweets are named after the Persian word for mulberry because of their charming shape. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn to mix a simple dough using ground almond flour, confectioners sugar, rosewater, and aromatic cardamom. Because this is a simple no-bake recipe, it is incredibly easy to recreate at home.
You will spend the session hand-rolling and shaping the dough into little mulberries, then adding a tiny pistachio sliver for the stem to finish the look. It is a tactile, relaxing process that feels a lot like working with edible clay.
While we shape our sweets, we will talk about the rich history behind them and the central role that hospitality and ceremony play in Persian culture.
These treats are naturally gluten-free and vegan, making them a perfect addition to any celebration or gift box. You will leave the class with a batch of your own handmade sweets and a recipe to share with friends and family. Join us to master a unique culinary skill that is as simple to make as it is delicious to eat.
