Opening Reception: Friday, March 7 from 7–9pm
Remember your favorite stories as a child? The faraway lands, perilous journeys with magical characters and fantastic creatures? The Fairy Tales Around the World art exhibit celebrates the stories and fables that shaped us, from local legends to distant tales, from mythical beasts to heroes, villains and everyone in between.
Join us for the opening reception on Friday, March 7 between 7-9pm to meet curator Courtney Pippin-Mathur and the artists. Mark your calendar now or set a reminder through Eventbrite.
Register now for creative workshops held in conjunction with this exhibit:
- Draw your Fairy Home in the Forest (for children ages 6-12 years old) on Saturday, March 8, 10am-12pm
- Create a unique 3-D Paper Maché Fairy Tale Character (for teens 16+ years old and adults) on Fridays, March 14 and March 21, 6pm-9pm
- Craft a fairy tale inspired Paper Maché Wall Hanging (for children ages 9-15 years old) on Saturdays, March 22 & March 29, 10am-1pm
The Fairy Tales Around the World art exhibit runs from March 7–29, 2025 at Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia 22301. Gallery hours are Thursday 12-6pm, Friday 12-9pm, Saturday 12-6pm, and Sunday 12-6pm (closed March 30).
The gallery is free, open to the public, and accessible. Del Ray Artisans, a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote art for the benefit of artists and the community.
