Join National Geographic Explorer & Award-winning Documentary Photographer, Matthew Cicanese (chee-kah-nay-zay), for an exciting evening presentation of “Earth Up Close: An Evening Around the World”. Matthew will take you on a journey through time, space, and scale – as you shrink down and experience alien worlds that are right beneath your nose!
You’ll learn about his roots as a photographic artist, hear some unreleased stories, and learn how he looks for (and documents) these incredible places. From the jungles of Sri Lanka to the wilds of Iceland, this event is for people of any age and is sure to leave you filled with wonder and a renewed sense of childhood curiosity.
Matthew’s work also examines the intersection of art, science, and the visceral connections that humans have with the natural world. His work illuminates life forms around the world that exist in our periphery – yet hold a critical significance.
No need to register in advance. This event will be FREE for Del Ray Artisans members. The fee for non-members is $15 (payable at the door).
Cicanese will give a lecture, followed by a Q&A, and have a sign-up sheet available for those interested in a 2-day intensive Macro photography workshop to be held at a later date.
