SUMMARY:Storytelling in Fabric: Artist Talk by Sheryl Sims
DESCRIPTION:Art quilt by Sheryl Sims\nView Recording \nArtist: Sheryl Sims\nDate/Time: Sunday\, October 10 from 2-3pm\nAudience size: 4-30 participants\n(Register by Sunday\, October 10 at 11am) \nSheryl Sims’ quilts tell the story of her heritage\, a family background entwining black and white\, free and enslaved.  When the pandemic caused Sheryl to spend more time at home\, she found a creative outlet combining art quilting with research into her ancestry. Freed from the restrictions of traditional quilting\, Sheryl improvised her own applique style to create striking art quilts. Join us online as Sheryl shares her quilts and the stories behind them. \nThe Storytelling in Fabric artist talk is offered in conjunction with the Expanding the Common Ground: Voices of the Global Majority art exhibit and is offered for FREE. Donations to support Del Ray Artisans non-profit arts organization are very much appreciated. \nThe artist talk will be online through the Zoom platform. Registered participants will be sent the connection information via email two days before the talk and again one hour before the talk. You may attend on a computer\, tablet\, or smartphone.
