DESCRIPTION:Join us inside Del Ray Artisans gallery from 6:30-8pm on the first Thursday of the month from April through September for our family-friendly activity! The activity is free of charge and all ages are welcome. \nCome to Del Ray Artisans gallery on Thursday\, April 2 from 6:30-8pm for a Fast and Fabulous photo scavenger hunt. Solve the clues with your cellphone images as proof. Use the written clues provided or be inspired by the art on exhibit to challenge your phone-tography skills. What makes a car fabulous? What makes a photograph fabulous? \nPlus get a sneak peek of the upcoming art exhibit\, Fast and Fabulous! Del Ray Artisans gallery is open 12-9pm on First Thursdays from April through September (except closed on July 2nd).\n  \n\nEvery year from April through September Del Ray Business Association celebrates First Thursday\, a Del Ray community event along Mount Vernon Avenue from 6pm until dusk on the first Thursday of the month. \nJoin the Del Ray community each First Thursday for themed activities\, a donation drive to support a local nonprofit\, and live music. The theme and nonprofit will be announced in advance\, and donations will be collected at the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square at the intersection of Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues. \nDel Ray Artisans is a member of Del Ray Business Association.

Join us tonight for the Lego Cars workshop! \nInstructor: Morgan Parr\nDate/Time: Sunday\, April 19\, 10am-noon\nCost: $10 Child / $20 Del Ray Artisans member / $30 Non-member\, plus a $8 supply fee\nClass size: 3-15 participants\n(Register by April 15) \nWhether you think of hot rods\, muscle cars or sports cars\, there’s no denying that there were some stunning automobiles in our recent past. This workshop focuses on using contour lines to draw iconic cars of their choice from observation and then creating an arcade-like background to create a sense of space. \nParticipants will learn about lines so they can use contour lines to draw. They will learn about space using a one-point perspective to create the illusion of a 3D space on a 2D piece of paper. Contrast will also be discussed in order to use colors and patterns to make different parts of the artwork stand out. (Common Core Standards include: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.6.1\, CCSS.ELA.Literacy.W.6.7\, and CCSS.Math.Content.6.G.A.3) \nThis workshop is for youth ages 10+ and adults. Children must be accompanied by a co-participating adult guardian.\n \n\nSTEAM-tastic @ DRA – Come join us at Del Ray Artisans for interactive classes about Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Arts and Math (STEAM)\, taught by professionals from each field.
