SUMMARY:STEAM-tastic: Calligraphy - The Art of Writing (Ages 10 to Adult)
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Jenny Nicholson\nDate/Time: Sunday\, March 8\, 10am-12pm\nCost: $10 per child / $25 per adult\nClass size: 3-15 participants\nWalk-ins welcome\, space permitting. \nJoin members of the Washington Calligraphers Guild to learn the art of calligraphy. Students will explore a variety of letterforms through hands-on practice with markers\, unique writing tools\, and inks. \nWe will view a variety of calligraphy examples along with a brief history of alphabets and scripts\, followed by a demonstration. Students will practice making the basic letter strokes with different writing tools\, papers\, and inks\, and learn tips to continue their practice at home. \nThis is a time to slow down\, use our hands and minds\, and explore the world of making strokes into letters and words. All ages\, beginners and those with experience are welcome. Good handwriting is not necessary\, and practicing calligraphy improves handwriting with consistency and rhythm. \nAll supplies are included. \nRegister Now \n\nSTEAM-tastic @ DRA – Come join us at Del Ray Artisans for interactive classes about Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Arts and Math (STEAM)\, taught by professionals from each field.
