DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Bridget Anthony-Hlioui\nDate/Time: Sunday\, May 19\, 10am-1pm\nCost: $30 Del Ray Artisans member / $35 Non-member; plus a $45 Supply Fee\nClass size: 5-10 participants\n(Register by midnight on May 14) \nLearn to paint a tessellated pattern on a mug in this 3-hour beginner to intermediate workshop taught by Alexandria-based artist and instructor Bridget Anthony-Hlioui\, B A Hlioui Art. Bridget’s passion for patterns and world cultures has been featured in Alexandria’s very own Art on the Avenue and is gaining national recognition. Tessellation is a method of artistic decoration that has been used for centuries in the Islamic world to decorate ceramics\, architecture\, and textiles. \nBridget will walk you through the process as you learn how to tessellate a pattern\, design and apply it to your mug and paint. All skill levels are encouraged to try it. The supply fee includes one ceramic bisque mug\, food safe underglazes\, glaze\, and firing services.
