SUMMARY:Introduction to Brazilian Zouk (Free Dance Class on First Thursday!)
DESCRIPTION:Instructors: Dixie Pond and Niranjan DineshDate: First Thursday\, September 5 from 7-8:30pm\nClass size: 4-12 participants\n(Register by September 2) \nBrazilian zouk is a partner dance from Brazil characterized by flowy\, circular movements. Class can be a standalone\, or a series of beginner classes if there is interest in a 4-week series. \nComfortable clothing and comfortable shoes (i.e.\, able to pivot in them!) recommended for attendees. \n\nView other upcoming workshops\, information about the facility\, and policies on the Upcoming Workshops page.

SUMMARY:Workshop: Sound Meditation with Dante
DESCRIPTION:“My personal philosophy is that the body has its own innate wisdom and all we have to do is tune the conditions to allow the body to perform its natural healing.” —Dante Baker\nInstructor: Dante Baker\nDate: Saturday\, Sept 21 from 10-11:30am\nClass size: 5-20 participants\n(Register by Sept 18; Walk-ins welcome\, space permitting) \nUsing crystal and Tibetan bowls\, Dante will lead a soothing asana and breathwork class to prepare the body for sound meditation. In the last hour\, Dante will use sound vibration to build awareness and achieve a mentally clear\, emotionally calm\, and stable state. \nSound healing is the use of tuned\, deep vibrational instruments (such as crystal and Tibetan bowls) during meditation to balance dissonant frequencies in the body and bring them into harmony. The tones and frequencies the bowls carry affect us in specific ways-each tone activates a different energy center and organ system within the body. \nPlease bring a yoga mat\, beach towel\, or blanket; as well as a cushion for seated meditation. Chairs are available for those who prefer them. No experience necessary. \n. \n\nAbout the instructor: Dante Baker is a holistic movement practitioner who holds certifications in Hatha Yoga E-RYT200\, Qigong\, Meditation\, Personal Training\, Pranayama and Massage Therapy. He developed his own unique sound meditation using Crystal bowls\, Tibetan metal bowls\, tuning forks\, chimes\, and sacred chants. Dante creates sound baths that are compatible with many other yoga styles and holistic practices so that numerous people from different backgrounds can experience the deep relaxation and healing of the sacred sound creations. Attending his workshops can also result in CEU’s for those yoga instructors seeking to maintain their 200 or above yoga credentials. \n\nView other upcoming workshops\, information about the facility\, and policies on the Upcoming Workshops page.
