DESCRIPTION:Join us at St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub on the second* Sunday of the month from 1-3pm! \nUrban Sketchbooking emphasizes storytelling that conveys a sense of place or a moment in time through drawings completed from direct observations. \nThis meetup operates on a drop-in basis during afternoons of the second Sunday of each month\, so there is no need to register in advance. Bring your supplies and join us outside at the cafe to produce still life\, figure\, or architecture subjects in your sketchbook. Participants will spend some time putting their skills into practice and then reconvene for a review of finished works. \n“Working Out (St. Elmo’s)” by Cathy Messina\nPlease wear a face mask and maintain 6′ of personal space. Creative Cloud with all apps is $53/month or $600/year for adults (Adobe Animate alone is $21/month). We will create loose abstract acrylics\, painting along to music. We’ll create gestural movements in time to the music and create a record of them in paint. \nWorking with three small canvases simultaneously\, we’ll do a rotation by removing one of the paintings and continuing to work on the remaining ones. Then we’ll pick a final painting to continue to work on. At the end\, we will have a series of three paintings in a progression of completion—some left more “unfinished” than others. \nThis workshop will be held outside the gallery\, weather permitting.
