DESCRIPTION:Registration is now closed. \nWorkshop: The Creative Revival: A Course on The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron\nDate/Time: Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm\, starting February 6 through April 9 (10 weeks total)\nInstructor: Sharon Burton\nClass size: 5-10 participants\n(Register by 11:59pm on Feb 4) \nThe Creative Revival: A Course on The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron\, a facilitated course by Sharon Burton that will meet once a week for 10 weeks as we go through The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. The program is focused on supporting relationships in removing artistic blocks and fostering confidence. Every week we will meet to discuss each chapter of the book\, our daily journaling practice (via “The Morning Pages”)\, weekly Artist’s Dates and other exercises that will foster creativity and unblocking creativity. \nStudents must purchase or obtain their own copy of the book The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron prior to attending the course. \nRegister Now \n\n\nAbout the Instructor: Sharon J. Burton is an artist\, art curator\, and creative life advisor\, and member of Del Ray Artisans. She is a self-taught visual artist whose preferred medium is collage and mixed media and has exhibited her art in galleries\, art venues and other settings across the country since 2007. Sharon has curated a number of art exhibitions in the Washington\, DC area since 2005 and has served as an art consultant for novice art collectors. \nSince 2007\, Sharon’s artwork has been shown in juried exhibitions\, galleries and alternative art spaces in the following cities: New York City\, Philadelphia\, Baltimore\, Columbia\, Maryland\, Silver Spring\, Maryland\, Washington\, DC\, Lorton\, Virginia and Atlanta\, Georgia. DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, February 9 from 4-6pm\nThe time is here! Join us at our most popular All Members Meeting: Del Ray Artisans’ annual Art Supplies Swap! If you haven’t already\, check your studios\, basements\, closets\, attics—wherever you have stashed those old art supplies that you really thought you would use\, and bite the bullet—if you haven’t used them yet—give someone else a chance! And maybe you will find a new project waiting for you! Please bring your old supplies with you to the meeting. \nThis year\, we ask that you to take a look at what you have and see if items can be donated to Inspiration Matterz\, an initiative run by local artist and fellow Del Ray Artisans member Kelli Sincock. See below for the list of supplies needed for the prison program and continuing education [outside of jail] program. \nAny supplies not donated to Inspiration Matterz will be collected and displayed in the middle of the room. DESCRIPTION:Facilities Director Kurt Peterson and the New Card Display\nCome to the gallery for our card making party on Presidents’ Day (Monday\, February 17) from 4-7pm. All are welcome to this free\, drop-in\, 3-hour card making creative social party and giving event to benefit Del Ray Artisans. \nThe All Occasion handmade cards will be used to stock the NEW card display made by Kurt Peterson and for the Sunshine Committee to send to members and friends who could use a little “shine” to brighten their day. For makers who’d like to keep their cards\, please give a donation for the supplies and organizers’ time. \nHostesses Theresa Kulstad and Karen Schmitz welcome all levels of “cardie” enthusiasts to drop-in (no registration required) and will provide plenty of art making materials\, cards\, and envelopes.
