DESCRIPTION:Looking for a chance to hone your figure drawing skills? Del Ray Artisans offers a range of open life drawing sessions for just this purpose. Both nude and clothed models are featured. (Models will be nude unless otherwise noted.) These sessions operate on a drop-in basis so there is no need to register in advance. Bring your supplies and join us at the gallery to draw or paint from our live models. We don’t supply easels but you are welcome to bring your own if you want to use one. Please no acrylics or oils; pastels\, watercolor and ink are permissible. All skill levels are welcome. \nThe fee for each three-hour session is $10 for DRA members and $12 for non-members. Two-hour sessions are $8 for members and $10 for non-members. \nGesture Sessions\nCome to the gesture sessions to loosen up and participate in a fun\, fast-paced drawing experience. These two-hour sessions are composed primarily of dynamic 1 to 5-minute poses. DESCRIPTION:This workshop has been canceled. \nInstructor: Kay Sidahmed\nDate: Tuesdays\, October 8\, 15\, 22 and November 5\, 12\, 19\nClass size: 5-15 participants\n(Register by October 4) \nBalance body and mind in a 60-minute mostly seated yoga practice. Explore the mindful fusion of movement and breath as it guides us to a better understanding of our true self. Learn about the ancient tradition of yoga and how it leads us to greater connection in our lives. Each class will include the following elements: yoga philosophy\, movement practice (asana)\, breath work (pranayama)\, meditation (dhyana). \nThis class is suitable for everybody and inclusive of those with limited mobility. \nKay Sidahmed is a RYT-200 yoga teacher who embraces yoga as a way of service to one another and the earth. She is passionate about guiding her students towards the transformative powers of yoga and making yoga accessible for everyone. This will be your opportunity to hear information about all the shows planned for 2020. The President will present a special message about the organization. The Annual Meeting also includes elections for the 2020 Board of Directors\, and a light supper will be served. Please RSVP to Kathryn Brown at Secretary@DelRayArtisans.org to help the organizers plan the food and beverage quantities. \nVote in Person or by Proxy\nAll members are invited to attend\, and “Members in Good Standing” will be able to vote—an excellent chance to renew your membership if you haven’t already. \nIf you cannot attend\, we urge you to make a Proxy vote. Please do this by emailing your vote (you can vote yea or nay for the entire slate or individual candidates) to Secretary@DelRayArtisans.org by Sunday\, October 20 at 6pm\, or by calling the gallery at 703-838-4827 on Thursday (10/17) or Friday (10/18) between noon and 6pm.
