Two-hour sessions are $8 for members and $10 for non-members. \nGesture Sessions\nCome to the gesture sessions to loosen up and participate in a fun\, fast-paced drawing experience. These two-hour sessions are composed primarily of dynamic 1 to 5-minute poses. This Del Ray meeting operates on a drop-in basis during afternoons of the second Sunday of each month\, so there is no need to register in advance. Bring your supplies and join us at the cafe to produce still life\, figure\, or architecture subjects in your sketchbook. Participants will spend some time putting their skills into practice and then reconvene for a review of finished works. The topic: \nLive Courageously\nBased on her work with hundreds of leaders and interactions with thousands of participants in her public art projects\, Nancy Belmont shares insights about what holds us back from living our most courageous lives. \nThrough her inspiring “Courage Formula\,” you’ll learn how to step into your most authentic\, powerful self. You’ll learn the three fears that hold us back and the one force powerful enough to overcome them. Matthew will take you on a journey through time\, space\, and scale – as you shrink down and experience alien worlds that are right beneath your nose! \nYou’ll learn about his roots as a photographic artist\, hear some unreleased stories\, and learn how he looks for (and documents) these incredible places. From the jungles of Sri Lanka to the wilds of Iceland\, this event is for people of any age and is sure to leave you filled with wonder and a renewed sense of childhood curiosity. \nPhotograph by Matthew Cicanese\nMatthew’s work also examines the intersection of art\, science\, and the visceral connections that humans have with the natural world. His work illuminates life forms around the world that exist in our periphery – yet hold a critical significance. \nNo need to register in advance.
