This will be your opportunity to hear information about all the shows planned for 2024. Dale Spivey\, President\, will present a special message about the organization and introduce the newly elected 2024 Board of Directors. \n\nVoting for the Slate or Individual Candidates\n“Members in Good Standing” (current membership) are eligible to vote—so please renew your membership if you haven’t already. Dina may not be able to help remote viewers with troubleshooting specific to their account\, but generic questions are welcome. DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, May 18 starting at 4pm\, join your fellow Del Ray Artisans members for the spring member meeting and this FREE member benefit program to find out how you can prepare to show your work successfully at Del Ray Artisans and beyond. \nMany art galleries will refuse to accept artwork that is poorly wired\, incorrectly framed\, or otherwise not finished professionally. Why risk losing your entry fee for something that is so easily within your control? Come to this program to learn tips and tricks for successful finishing! In addition\, you’ll learn how to prep files ahead of time\, including creating and maintaining your artist bio\, building an inventory database of all your pieces\, and keeping a photo library. When you have everything properly set up\, you can respond to calls for entry whenever they pop up\, even if the deadline is tomorrow (or today)! \nThe event will begin with a brief meeting and include light refreshments. In this presentation\, we’ll focus on simple\, effective techniques to help you capture clear\, professional-looking photos of your artwork—using tools you likely already have. We will cover: \n\nHow to use natural and artificial lighting to avoid glare and shadows\nSimple setups for photographing 2D and 3D artwork\nCamera and smartphone tips for sharper\, more accurate images\nFraming\, cropping\, and background choices that highlight your work\nCommon mistakes that can hurt your submissions—and how to avoid them\n\nWhether you’re submitting to juried exhibitions\, online galleries\, or grant opportunities\, having strong documentation of your work is essential. This workshop is designed for artists of all experience levels and will emphasize accessible\, budget-friendly approaches. \nMembers are welcome to bring questions and examples of their work for discussion.
