DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, February 17 from 4-6pm\nThe time is here! Join us at our most popular All Members Meeting: Del Ray Artisans’ annual Art Supplies Swap! If you haven’t already\, check your studios\, basements\, closets\, attics—wherever you have stashed those old art supplies that you really thought you would use\, and bite the bulletÖ if you haven’t used them yet—give someone else a chance! And maybe you will find a new project waiting for you! Please bring your old supplies with you to the meeting. \nThis year\, we ask that you to take a look at what you have and see if items can be donated to Inspiration Matterz—an initiative run by local artist and fellow Del Ray Artisans member\, Kelli Sincock. A list of the much-needed / prison-approved items is provided below. \nAny supplies not donated to Inspiration Matterz will be collected and displayed in the middle of the room. Light refreshments will be served as we learn about the latest DRA news\, and view the supplies. We will then pull names from a hat to take turns choosing “new” supplies! We can’t wait to see what everyone brings this year! \n—Sophia Suarez and Dawn Wyse Hurto\, Director of Membership\, Membership@DelRayArtisans.org \n\nDonation Drive\nPlease consider bringing the following new or old art supplies to Del Ray Artisans’ Art Supplies Swap (Sunday\, February 17 at 4pm) and designating as a donation to Inspiration Matterz: \n\nTablets of Bristol board drawing paper (8◊10? or 9◊12? or 11◊14?) = Most needed item!\nBlack Drawing Paper (various sizes – not construction paper)\nBrown Drawing Paper (various sizes – not construction paper)\nBoard Backed Canvases (8◊10? or 9◊12?)\nPads of White drawing paper (non-spiral bound is preferred for safety reasons)\nReams of white cardstock paper (8◊10?)\nReams of colored and white printer paper\nLegal Sized manila folders\nAcrylic Paint in either tubes or bottles (especially black and white) Sets are best! (2 oz and up)\nPaintbrushes of various sizes\nKneaded erasers\nWhite erasers\nGraphite Drawing Pencils (preferably *8B*\, 4B\, 2B\, HB\, 4H\, 6H)\nWhite Drawing Pencils\nGraphite Sticks\nTortillons/Smudge Sticks/Blending Stumps of Various Sizes\nDry Erase Pens\nDouble stick tape (the kind that is cut into small tabs in a box)\nSheets of foam core (at least 12◊12?)\nDrawing instruction books\n\nExtra items: \n\nI’m working on building a library of images that they can choose from for projects. I need pictures that are pulled from newspapers and magazines that are at least 4◊6?. Color or black & white are fine. Jail will not allow nudes\, weapons\, alcohol or drug references\, or violence. Basically\, the images must be PG. Most asked for images: birds\, butterflies\, lions & tigers\, cars\, cityscapes\, wildlife\, roses/flowers\, and portraits.\nWhen someone is released and they have been an exceptional student who shows serious interest in continuing their study of art\, I give them a gift packet of NEW supplies and paper.
