DESCRIPTION:Bump in the Night Art Exhibit\nOctober 3 – November 1\, 2025\nOpening Reception: Friday\, October 3 from 7–9pm\n“Synergy” by Morgan Parr\nDrawing inspiration from Spike Milligan’s poem “Bump” and the old Cornish Litany about ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggedy beasties\, the Bump in the Night art exhibit reveals the source of frightening\, unexplainable noises heard at night and the experiences behind “things that go bump in the night.” \nJoin us for the opening reception on Friday\, October 3 between 7-9pm to meet curator Morgan Parr and the artists. Mark your calendar now or set a reminder through Eventbrite. \nAlso join us during Art on the Avenue\, the annual arts festival along Mount Vernon Avenue\, on Saturday\, October 4. DESCRIPTION:Color Strips\, photo by Steven Halperson\nSerenity Gallery\, the in-home gallery of mosaic artist-photographer Nina Tisara\, will host an Open House on Sunday\, November 16\, 2025 from 4-7pm in a creative partnership with Del Ray Artisans. Twenty percent of all sales (in person and online) will be donated to Del Ray Artisans nonprofit. \nThe art may be viewed in person at Serenity Gallery\, 6408 Hayfield Place\, Alexandria\, VA or online. Please RSVP to ninat@ninatisara.com to attend the Open House. \nSerenity Gallery features Nina’s widely collected mosaics and the stunning art photography of Steven Halperson. Nina first became known to Alexandrians as a photojournalist with the Gazette Packet for her sensitive and artistic portrayal of city residents\, historic places and special events. She is the founder of Living Legends of Alexandria. \nArtist-photographer Steven Halperson owns and manages Tisara Photography. Bringing over 30 years of experience and his artistic talent to his work\, he specializes in family and business portraits and events. His portraits of Alexandria’s current Living Legends are on display in the Market Square Lobby of Alexandria City Hall. The Tisara Photography studio is located on South Washington Street in Old Town Alexandria. \nDel Ray Artisans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote art for the benefit of artists and the community. DESCRIPTION:The Alcove Gift Shop is open for 10 months of the year (closed in July and December for special events). New items will appear in the gift shop each week\, and all the artwork is fully refreshed every two months. The current display runs October 3 – November 30\, 2025. \nAll work featured in the gift shop is by Del Ray Artisans members. Unframed 2-D work is available in bins alongside jewelry\, fiber art\, wood craft\, ceramics\, and other smaller 3-D items. The gift shop is located in the alcove inside Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Colasanto Center\, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue\, Alexandria\, Virginia 22301. \nThe gallery is free\, open to the public\, and accessible.
