DESCRIPTION:Fast and Fabulous Art Exhibit\nApril 3–25\, 2026\nOpening Reception: Friday\, April 3 from 7–9pm\n“Fast and Fabulous” by Scott MacConomy\nFrom the first blueprints for the Model T to Warhol and Dali to the Ferrari 250\, legally a work of art in Italy\, cars have inspired and embodied art. The Fast and the Fabulous exhibit features artwork exploring cars and car culture. Be it Fords\, Ferraris\, or flying cars\, Del Ray Artisans’ interpretations of cars as well as motorcycles\, trucks\, and other fast/fabulous forms of transportation will impress\, amuse\, and delight. Visitors of driving age and those visitors still dreaming of their first time behind the wheel will love this exhibit. \n“I am an artist\, the track is my canvas and the car is my brush.” —Graham Hill\, Grand Prix and Indy 500 champion. \nJoin us for the opening reception on Friday\, April 3 between 7-9pm to meet curators Kelly MacConomy and Scott MacConomy and the artists. DESCRIPTION:Photo Album \nThe Alcove Gift Shop is open for 10 months of the year (closed in July and December for special events). New items will appear in the gift shop each week\, and all the artwork is fully refreshed every two months. The current display runs March 6 – April 25\, 2026. \nAll work featured in the gift shop is by Del Ray Artisans members. Unframed 2-D work is available in bins alongside jewelry\, fiber art\, wood craft\, ceramics\, and other smaller 3-D items. The gift shop is located in the alcove inside Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Colasanto Center\, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue\, Alexandria\, Virginia 22301. \nThe gallery is free\, open to the public\, and accessible. This annual collaboration\, bridging our school and community through the arts\, runs from May 1 through May 23\, 2026\, reflecting the vibrant spirit and diverse perspectives of our youth and featuring curated works spanning a wide range of media\, including drawing\, painting\, ceramics\, mixed media\, digital media\, and photography. \nThe exhibition kicks off with a celebratory opening reception on Fri.\, May 1\, between 7–9 p.m. The community is invited to meet the curators: Del Ray Artisans’ Youth Programs Facilitator (Viki Walchak)\, ACHS Visual Arts Department teachers (Hannah Brownell\, Tabitha Eller\, Anna Huerta\, Pamela Johnson\, Victoria Krieger\, Lauren Pierson\, and Marisa St. Louis)\, and Career & Technical Education (CTE) teachers (Maria Ivanova and Taki Sidley).
