DESCRIPTION:Del Ray celebrates  First Thursday\, a Del Ray community event along Mount Vernon Avenue from 6-9pm on the first Thursday of the month (April through September). \nVisit Del Ray Artisans gallery (open 12-6pm on Thursdays) for a sneak peek of the next art exhibit\, then order dinner and drinks for carryout from one of Del Ray’s local restaurants\, and stroll the neighborhood! \nThe April 1\, 2021 First Thursday theme is Petal Porch Party. This theme is also part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival with Del Ray as one of the stops! \nBe a hero to kids in need: Donate colored pencils (12-pack)\, crayons (24-pack)\, and reusable water bottles (new\, kid-friendly\, BPA-free sport/water bottles) for Mount Vernon Community School & Maury Elementary School’s Blessings in a Backpack program. On Thursday\, April 1\, plastic bins will be placed along Mount Vernon Avenue by 4pm. Blessings in a Backpack works to provides food staples to Mount Vernon Community School and Maury Elementary School children in need.
