This exhibit includes artworks that focus on the positive\, highlighting the splendor of our landscapes\, people\, history\, creativity\, resilience or other aspects that shape the American experience. Come see how local artists have chosen to capture their view of the “USA at 250”. \nJoin us for the opening reception on Friday\, June 5 between 7-9pm to meet curators TJ Feeley and Karen Feeley and the exhibiting artists. SUMMARY:Volunteer in the Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Give some TLC to Del Ray Artisans’ gardens! Join the Gardens Committee to spruce up the landscaping around the gallery. \nBring gloves\, knee pads (if desired)\, and laughter. Even if you don’t know what a weed is\, we can teach you. Volunteer for 1 hour or the whole 2.5 hours. If you have any questions\, please email Jenny at Gardens@DelRayArtisans.org. \nMEMBERS: This task counts towards your annual membership volunteer hours (record your hours). \nNON-MEMBERS: You are welcome to come help and learn too. \nSave the Dates: During the season (March-October)\, the committee meets once a month on a weekend day from 9am-11am. In July and August\, we’ll meet an hour earlier (8am-10am) to avoid the heat. Our 2026 dates are: \n\nSaturday\, May 16\, 9:00 to 11:00 am\nSaturday\, June 13\, 9:00 to 11:00 am\nSunday\, July 12\, 8:00 to 10:00 am (earlier due to heat)\nSaturday\, August 15\, 8:00 to 10:00 am (earlier due to heat)\nSaturday\, September 19\, 9:00 to 11:00 am (tidy up the garden for Art on the Avenue)\nSaturday\, October 17\, 9:00 to 11:00 am\n\nThank you for your volunteer time! \n\nNOTE: All plantings and transplantings must be approved by the Garden Committee. The Garden Committee approval is important to make sure the plants that get chosen are great for nature\, located properly for the right amount of sun or shade\, don’t conflict with other plants or facility needs\, and fit into the overall garden plan with maintenance in mind.

Houshiar\nDate/Time: Saturday\, June 13\, 10am-12pm\nCost: $40 Del Ray Artisans member / $50 Non-member; plus $10 supply fee\nClass size: 4-20 participants\n(Register in advance) \nCome learn how to make a classic Persian treat called Tut. These delightful\, bite-sized sweets are named after the Persian word for mulberry because of their charming shape. In this hands-on workshop\, you will learn to mix a simple dough using ground almond flour\, confectioners sugar\, rosewater\, and aromatic cardamom. Because this is a simple no-bake recipe\, it is incredibly easy to recreate at home. \nYou will spend the session hand-rolling and shaping the dough into little mulberries\, then adding a tiny pistachio sliver for the stem to finish the look. It is a tactile\, relaxing process that feels a lot like working with edible clay. \nWhile we shape our sweets\, we will talk about the rich history behind them and the central role that hospitality and ceremony play in Persian culture. \nThese treats are naturally gluten-free and vegan\, making them a perfect addition to any celebration or gift box. You will leave the class with a batch of your own handmade sweets and a recipe to share with friends and family.
