USA at 250 challenged local artists to capture the spirit of our nation\, its past\, present\, or future. This exhibit includes artworks that focus on the positive\, highlighting the splendor of our landscapes\, people\, history\, creativity\, resilience or other aspects that shape the American experience. Come see how local artists have chosen to capture their view of the “USA at 250”. \nJoin us for the opening reception on Friday\, June 5 between 7-9pm to meet curators TJ Feeley and Karen Feeley and the exhibiting artists. Houshiar\nDate/Time: Saturday\, June 6\, 10am-1pm\nCost: $40 Del Ray Artisans member / $50 Non-member; plus $10 supply fee\nClass size: 5-12 participants\n(Register in advance) \nCollage by Azita Houshiar\nCome to play and experiment freely\, and leave with pages started and ideas you can continue exploring long after the class ends. Junk Journaling blends the art of collage with the practice of journaling\, offering a playful\, low-pressure way to explore creativity without worrying about perfection. The emphasis is on curiosity\, intuition\, experimentation\, and discovering your own expressive style. \nIn this workshop\, you’ll learn practical techniques for collage\, layering\, and composition\, and receive guidance on using found paper\, packaging\, tags\, embellishments\, and everyday “junk” to create layered\, expressive journal pages that reflect your personal perspective and storytelling style. \nPlease bring your own journal. If you don’t have one yet\, high-quality paper will be provided so you can experiment and create during class. All other supplies will be included\, such as paper\, ephemera\, stickers\, tape\, glue\, and basic tools. DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Khushi Bhansali\nDate/Time: Saturday\, June 6\, 6-8pm\nCost: $20 Del Ray Artisans member / $30 Non-member; plus $30 supply fee\nClass size: 4-12 participants\n(Register in advance to reserve a seat) \nPerfect for beginners and artists alike\, this mosaic class offers a fun\, relaxed way to get creative. We will take you from a blank board to a polished varnished mosaic masterpiece. \nLearn the basics of mosaic fabrication by first drawing a geometrical design on a 10-inch MDF board. With guidance every step of the way\, you’ll work with a special clay and learn to roll and sculpt it for the design\, and then paint it with vibrant acrylic colors.
