DESCRIPTION:Fast and Fabulous Art Exhibit\nApril 3–25\, 2026\nOpening Reception: Friday\, April 3 from 7–9pm\n“Fast and Fabulous” by Scott MacConomy\nFrom the first blueprints for the Model T to Warhol and Dali to the Ferrari 250\, legally a work of art in Italy\, cars have inspired and embodied art. The Fast and the Fabulous exhibit features artwork exploring cars and car culture. Be it Fords\, Ferraris\, or flying cars\, Del Ray Artisans’ interpretations of cars as well as motorcycles\, trucks\, and other fast/fabulous forms of transportation will impress\, amuse\, and delight. Visitors of driving age and those visitors still dreaming of their first time behind the wheel will love this exhibit. \n“I am an artist\, the track is my canvas and the car is my brush.” —Graham Hill\, Grand Prix and Indy 500 champion. \nJoin us for the opening reception on Friday\, April 3 between 7-9pm to meet curators Kelly MacConomy and Scott MacConomy and the artists. DESCRIPTION:This workshop has been cancelled. Join us tonight for the Lego Cars workshop! \nInstructor: Morgan Parr\nDate/Time: Sunday\, April 19\, 10am-noon\nCost: $10 Child / $20 Del Ray Artisans member / $30 Non-member\, plus a $8 supply fee\nClass size: 3-15 participants\n(Register by April 15) \nWhether you think of hot rods\, muscle cars or sports cars\, there’s no denying that there were some stunning automobiles in our recent past. This workshop focuses on using contour lines to draw iconic cars of their choice from observation and then creating an arcade-like background to create a sense of space. \nParticipants will learn about lines so they can use contour lines to draw. They will learn about space using a one-point perspective to create the illusion of a 3D space on a 2D piece of paper. Contrast will also be discussed in order to use colors and patterns to make different parts of the artwork stand out. (Common Core Standards include: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.6.1\, CCSS.ELA.Literacy.W.6.7\, and CCSS.Math.Content.6.G.A.3) \nThis workshop is for youth ages 10+ and adults. Children must be accompanied by a co-participating adult guardian.\n \n\nSTEAM-tastic @ DRA – Come join us at Del Ray Artisans for interactive classes about Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Arts and Math (STEAM)\, taught by professionals from each field. SUMMARY:Live From Your Studio - Connect with fellow DRA artists
DESCRIPTION:Live From Your Studio is a free\, members-only\, virtual gathering where Del Ray Artisans members can connect from their art-making space. This virtual event will take place monthly on the third Sunday of the month (excluding December) over Zoom. Artists are encouraged (but not required) to join from their studios and make art during the session. These events will allow members to paint and create art together\, and forge deeper connections to other members. \nRSVP at least a week before the gathering to help organizers prepare. Zoom connection information will be emailed to you two days before the gathering. If you have any questions\, please contact organizer Laura Flynn Geissel at flynnmail52@proton.me and Membership Director Kara Macek at membership@delrayartisans.org. \nNot a member?  It’s easy to join Del Ray Artisans. Artist ($30-$110) and Patron ($250+) level memberships enjoy exhibition and program privileges.
