DESCRIPTION:Second Time Around Art Exhibit\nSeptember 5–27\, 2025\nOpening Reception: Friday\, September 5 from 7–9pm\n“Amoeba Series: Party!” by Tracy Wilkerson\nMany physical items we choose to remove from our lives can be sold/given/donated to others rather than going into our world’s overburdened landfills. It takes a conscious choice to acquire items from others rather than purchasing new items at a retail store. It also takes a little effort to offer something no longer needed to others rather than just tossing it in the trash or recycle bin. The Second Time Around art exhibit at Del Ray Artisans gallery focuses on this thought-change concept of sustainable creativity and enhancing the artistic environmental ethos\, from the featured artwork utilizing recycled materials to the special workshops and events held during the exhibit. \nJoin us for the opening reception on Friday\, September 5 between 7-9pm to meet curator Tracy Wilkerson and the artists. DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Ditas Katague\nDate/Time: Monday\, September 8\, 6:30-8:30pm\nCost: $40 Del Ray Artisans member / $50 Non-member; plus a $15 Supply Fee\nClass size: 6-12 participants\n(Register by September 4) \nJoin us for a creative journey into acrylic “dirty pour” technique! In this 2-hour workshop at Del Ray Artisans\, you’ll learn the art of creating mesmerizing abstract paintings using the fluidity of acrylic paints. Ditas Katague\, local painter\, jewelry maker and yoga instructor will guide you through the layered cup “dirty pouring” method\, to achieve stunning\, one-of-a-kind artworks. \nWhether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your pouring skills\, this workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment for exploration and creativity. You’ll leave your finished artwork to set at the gallery at the end of the workshop\, and pick it up during gallery hours later in the week. \nOption: For a finishing touch\, resin your masterpiece during the Playing with Resin workshop taught by Tracy Wilkerson on Monday\, September 22\, 6-9pm and save $10 when you register for both workshops at the same time! (UPDATE: The resin workshop is sold out. This option is no longer available.) \nThis workshop is designed for adults. Children ages 16-17 may participate with parental permission.
