DESCRIPTION:Lovely As A Tree Art Exhibit\nAugust 1–30\, 2025\nOpening Reception: Friday\, August 1 from 7–9pm\n“Backyard Beauty” by Robyn Seaton McGarry\nLovely As A Tree is an art exhibit exploring the ways in which trees impact our lives and this earth. Humans and animals benefit from the shade\, shelter\, food provided\, the beauty of and the environmental impact of trees. The talented members of Del Ray Artisans will bring aspects of this natural phenomenon to artistic life through painting\, photography\, ceramics\, items created from wood and other mediums that flow from their prolific imaginations. This art exhibit is a showcase for the creative members of Del Ray Artisans. \nJoin us for the opening reception on Friday\, August 1 between 7-9pm to meet curator Robyn Seaton McGarry and the artists. Mark your calendar now or set a reminder through Eventbrite. \nAlso check out Del Ray Artisans’ Creative Summer Programs this month. In this series of workshops exploring the arts\, you will learn techniques in collage\, drawing\, mixed media\, photography\, bead embroidery\, and more from local artists. DESCRIPTION:Join us inside Del Ray Artisans gallery from 6:30-8pm on the first Thursday of the month from April through September for our family-friendly activity! The activity is free of charge and all ages are welcome. \n“I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree” is a line from Joyce Kilmer’s poem “Trees.” Come see the Lovely As A Tree art exhibit at Del Ray Artisans gallery from August 1-30\, 2025. View member artwork indeed as lovely as a tree! Del Ray Artisans gallery is open 12-9pm on First Thursdays from April through September. \nOn First Thursday\, August 7 from 6:30-8pm\, come make your own collage homage to a tree using found organic materials inspired by the art of the sculptor\, photographer\, and environmentalist Andy Goldsworthy. \n\n  \n\nEvery year from April through September Del Ray Business Association celebrates First Thursday\, a Del Ray community event along Mount Vernon Avenue from 6pm until dusk on the first Thursday of the month. \nJoin the Del Ray community each First Thursday for themed activities\, a donation drive to support a local nonprofit\, and live music. The theme and nonprofit will be announced in advance\, and donations will be collected at the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square at the intersection of Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues.
