From lighthouses and stormy seas\, to portside pubs and fishing lures\, get lost in a pirate’s plunder of creativity. Who knows\, you might even come upon a sea monster or two! \nJoin us for the exhibit reception on Friday\, June 6 between 7-9pm to meet curators Tiara Safic-Martin and TJ Feeley and the artists. Mark your calendar now or set a reminder through Eventbrite. \nThe Sing Me a Sea Shanty art exhibit runs from May 30 – June 29\, 2025 at Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Colasanto Center\, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue\, Alexandria\, Virginia 22301. Gallery hours are Thursday 12-6pm\, Friday 12-9pm\, Saturday 12-6pm\, and Sunday 12-6pm (hours differ in July). \nThe gallery is free\, open to the public\, and accessible. DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Tracy Wilkerson\nDate/Time: Monday\, June 16\, 6:30-8:30pm\nCost: $20 Del Ray Artisans member / $30 Non-member; plus a $15 Supply Fee\nClass size: 4-12 participants\n(Register in advance; Walk-ins welcome\, space permitting) \nDo you have a canvas or panel (up to 12 x 12 inches) that you want to cover with resin? Then sign up for this class! You will learn the basics of resin and then mix the resin and cover your piece. You’ll leave your finished artwork to set at the gallery at the end of the workshop\, and pick them up during gallery hours later in the week. \nOption: First take the Acrylic Paint Pour Workshop with Ditas Katague on Monday\, June 9\, 6:30-8:30pm\, and then come to this workshop to resin your masterpiece! Save $10 when you sign up for both workshops at the same time. Register by June 6 for this discount. \nThe workshop is designed for adults. Children ages 16-17 may participate with parental permission.
