DESCRIPTION:Same But Different Art Exhibit\nApril 5–27\, 2024\nOpening Reception: Friday\, April 5 from 7–9pm\n“Springtime in Maryland” by Archa Malhotra\nPhoto Album \nIn the spirit of Celebrate Diversity Month\, this art exhibit highlights the beauty and richness of diversity through artists’ interpretations of the concept Same But Different. This Del Ray Artisans members showcase explores notions of identity\, distinctions and similarities in our natural and manmade world. Through a variety of mediums\, styles\, and perspectives\, the Same But Different exhibit invites the viewers to look at the interconnectedness of humanity by examining the uniqueness of things that may appear to be the same. \nJoin us for the opening reception on Friday\, April 5 between 7-9pm to meet curators Pinar Artuk-Boegel and Barbara Cooper and the artists. O’Brien\nDate/Time: Saturday\, April 13\, 10am-noon\nCost: $50 Del Ray Artisans member / $60 Non-member; plus a $10 Supply Fee\nClass size: 4-10 participants\n(Register by midnight on April 9) \n“Venn Diagram” (gel print) by Eileen M. O’Brien\nPacking materials and cardboard boxes get a second life in this workshop that teaches you how to make wonderful prints using household items\, stamps\, and stencils! Printmaking with a gel plate is a fun and easy way to create unique prints that can be beautiful collage papers or stand on their own. Learn how to pull prints from gel plates using different papers and paints and create several pieces in just two hours. \nPlate kits will be provided for class use only\, but take-home kits are available for purchase for $20 directly to the instructor during the workshop.
