DESCRIPTION:Visible Touch: A Look at Texture Art Exhibit\nFebruary 2–24\, 2024\nOpening Reception: Friday\, February 2 from 7–9pm\nVideo Tour \nCome see the Visible Touch: A Look at Texture exhibit featuring works by local artists that explore texture through physical form and visual illusion. Join us for the opening reception on Friday\, February 2 between 7-9pm at Del Ray Artisans gallery to meet the curators and the artists and hear live guitar music by Bob Graboyes. Mark your calendar now or set a reminder through Eventbrite. \nTexture is one of the fundamental elements of art. In anticipation of how texture can prompt a desire to touch\, visitors are allowed to touch some of the art. (Pieces that allow touching are marked.) Artists have also shared statements on how they created the various textures. Enjoy the visual and the tactile experience of this exhibit! \nIn the mood to create? Drop-in to the free\, fun\, “I Likey” Card Making Party on Saturday\, February 3 between 4-8pm to make cards to benefit our nonprofit art organization. Donations appreciated for any cards you make that you are taking home. Come solo\, with friends or your Valentine. DESCRIPTION:Del Ray Urban Sketchers operates on a drop-in basis and meets the second Sunday of most months at St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub in Del Ray. (Del Ray Urban Sketchers does not meet in July\, August\, and December.) Mark your calendar or set a reminder in Eventbrite. \nUrban sketchbooking emphasizes storytelling that conveys a sense of place or a moment in time through drawings completed from direct observations. \nBring your supplies and join us outside at the cafe to produce still life\, figure\, or architecture subjects in your sketchbook.
