DESCRIPTION:Visible Touch: A Look at Texture Art Exhibit\nFebruary 2–24\, 2024\nOpening Reception: Friday\, February 2 from 7–9pm\nVideo Tour \nCome see the Visible Touch: A Look at Texture exhibit featuring works by local artists that explore texture through physical form and visual illusion. Join us for the opening reception on Friday\, February 2 between 7-9pm at Del Ray Artisans gallery to meet the curators and the artists and hear live guitar music by Bob Graboyes. Mark your calendar now or set a reminder through Eventbrite. \nTexture is one of the fundamental elements of art. In anticipation of how texture can prompt a desire to touch\, visitors are allowed to touch some of the art. (Pieces that allow touching are marked.) Artists have also shared statements on how they created the various textures. Enjoy the visual and the tactile experience of this exhibit! \nIn the mood to create? Drop-in to the free\, fun\, “I Likey” Card Making Party on Saturday\, February 3 between 4-8pm to make cards to benefit our nonprofit art organization. Donations appreciated for any cards you make that you are taking home. Come solo\, with friends or your Valentine. This book explores the persons who were the inspiration for 29 artists over the past five centuries. Some are those we probably already know and others are quite surprising to discover. \nThe Creative Book Club meets on select Saturday mornings to discuss readings by a variety of authors. The club is free and open to all who are interested in keeping their creative muse flowing and connecting with other creative people.
