These members help make Del Ray Artisans a thriving organization that fosters community and promotes creative expression and artistic endeavors in the visual\, performing\, and applied arts. Come celebrate their dedication and enjoy their artwork. \nThe members who donated the most volunteer hours from January 2019 through April 2021 were invited to enter pieces. The featured works were selected by curators Amy Kitchin Hower and Joshua Oliveira. Our nonprofit arts organization relies on the dedication\, commitment\, and generosity of members to provide the high quality exhibits\, programs\, and special events for which it is well-known. \nReserve a ticket for a half-hour viewing during the extended hours on opening day: Friday\, August 6 between 12-9pm. Opening day tickets are not required\, but ticket holders have priority entry. The gallery capacity is limited to 15 people at any one time in order to facilitate social distancing. \nOpening Day Tickets \nGallery hours are First Thursday (Apr-Sept) 12-9pm\, Thursday 12-6pm\, Friday 12-9pm\, Saturday 12-6pm\, and Sunday 12-6pm (closed the last Sunday of the month). Del Ray Artisans is ALX Promise certified and committed to the health and safety of our visitors. Face masks must be worn by all while visiting the gallery. \nThe Together exhibit runs August 6–28\, 2021 at Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Colasanto Center\, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue\, Alexandria\, Virginia 22301. DESCRIPTION:This workshop is full. \nWorkshop: Playing with Resin\nInstructor: Tracy Wilkerson\nDate/Time: Tuesday\, August 24 from 6-9pmCost: $40 for Del Ray Artisans Members and $50 for non-members\, plus a $10 supply fee\nClass size: 5-10 participants\n(Register by August 21; do not drop-in) \nLearn the ins and outs of mixing resin and using it in your artwork as an adhesive\, a covering\, or the main medium. There’s lots of creative time during this 3-hour workshop…no need to rush\, which is one of the first lessons in using resin! You’ll leave your finished masterpiece(s) to set at the gallery at the end of the workshop\, and pick them up during gallery hours later in the week. \nAll supplies are included in the supplies fee\, and you may bring your own items to further customize your work.
