DESCRIPTION:The Naked and the Newt: Studies in Human and Herpeton Anatomy Art Exhibit\nJune 4 – 26\, 2021\n“Sunbaaaathing” by Guy Jones\nView Online: Photo Album | Video Tour \nCome see The Naked and the Newt: Studies in Human and Herpeton Anatomy art exhibit to see how artists explore the human body and reptiles / amphibians / herpetons. This exhibition investigates conceptions of anatomy\, texture\, and conservation with our partners\, the Virginia Herpetological Society\, and runs June 4-26\, 2021 at Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Colasanto Center\, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue\, Alexandria\, Virginia 22301. The gallery is free\, open to the public\, and accessible. \nReserve a ticket for a half-hour viewing during the extended hours on opening day: Friday\, June 4 between 12-8pm. Opening day tickets are not required\, but ticket holders have priority entry. The gallery capacity is limited to 10 people at any one time in order to facilitate social distancing. \nOpening Day Tickets \nRegular gallery hours are Thursdays 12-6pm\, Fridays 12-6pm\, and Saturdays 12-4pm. DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Marni Maree\, www.marnimaree.comDate: Friday\, June 18 from 6-8pmCost: $50 Del Ray Artisans member / $55 Non-members\nClass size: 10-25 participants\nOnline workshop\n(Register before 4pm on Friday\, June 18) \nLearn to use watercolor techniques such as wet in wet\, salt texture\, lifting\, and scratching to paint beautiful leaves. After painting leaves you will add realistic dew drops. They are so fun and easy you will soon be adding dew drops to all of your paintings! \nDemonstration and hands-on activity\, suitable for high school age and adults. For the hands-on activity you will need to have these supplies: \n\nWatercolor paints (3 colors)\nWatercolor paper (Instructor prefers 140 lb cold press Arches)\nBrushes (round with a nice point\, scrubber)\nTable salt\nToothpick or other sharp object\nWater\nPaper towel\n\nThis workshop will be online through the Zoom platform. Registered participants will be sent the connection information via email one day before the workshop and approximately one hour before the workshop.
