Meet the curator and the artists at the opening reception on Friday\, October 4 from 7-9pm. \nThe original Twilight Zone took viewers to another dimension. Created by Rod Serling\, the show explored humanity’s hopes\, despairs\, prejudices and more in metaphoric ways that conventional television could not. Art Inspired by The Twilight Zone brings this timeless show to life through art and photography. Journey into your own wondrous land of imagination influenced by The Twilight Zone and view art that will entertain and inspire. \nThe exhibit runs October 4-27\, 2019 at Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Colasanto Center\, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue\, Alexandria\, Virginia 22301. Gallery hours are: Thursdays 12-6pm\, Fridays 12-9pm\, Saturdays 12-9pm\, and Sundays 12-6pm. DESCRIPTION:This workshop has been canceled. \nInstructor: Kay Sidahmed\nDate: Tuesdays\, October 8\, 15\, 22 and November 5\, 12\, 19\nClass size: 5-15 participants\n(Register by October 4) \nBalance body and mind in a 60-minute mostly seated yoga practice. Explore the mindful fusion of movement and breath as it guides us to a better understanding of our true self. Learn about the ancient tradition of yoga and how it leads us to greater connection in our lives. Each class will include the following elements: yoga philosophy\, movement practice (asana)\, breath work (pranayama)\, meditation (dhyana). \nThis class is suitable for everybody and inclusive of those with limited mobility. \nKay Sidahmed is a RYT-200 yoga teacher who embraces yoga as a way of service to one another and the earth. She is passionate about guiding her students towards the transformative powers of yoga and making yoga accessible for everyone.
