Alexandria Commission for the Arts
From the entertainment offered in the City’s taverns in its earlier days to the internationally renowned Torpedo Factory Art Center of today, the arts have played a significant role in our City’s history. To ensure the continued prominence of these arts, the Alexandria City Council created the Alexandria Commission for the Arts in 1984, to lead and advocate for cultural development within the City of Alexandria and surrounding region, to stimulate artistic excellence and make these arts accessible to all Alexandrians.

The Virginia Commission for the Arts supports artistic excellence where it exists, encourages growth in artistic quality, and works to make this artistic excellence available to all Virginians.
National Endowment for the Arts
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) was established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government. The NEA awards funds to support artistic excellence, creativity, and innovation for the benefit of individuals and communities. The NEA extends its work through partnerships with state arts agencies, local leaders, other federal agencies, and the philanthropic sector.

Alexandria Arts Alliance
The Alexandria Arts Alliance works to advance the arts in Alexandria because a strong arts community equals an economically strong and vibrant city. The City of Alexandria recently approved a dynamic citywide Arts & Culture Master Plan which affirms the importance of the arts to the city’s economic vitality and quality of life.

Alexandria Small Business Development Center
The Alexandria Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a free community resource that provides confidential one-to-one guidance, as well as workshops, roundtables and training for startups and existing businesses. Del Ray Artisans, as a nonprofit within the City of Alexandria, is automatically qualified to make use of this valuable resource.
Del Ray Business Association
The Del Ray Business Association is an organization of business owners and professionals that strive for growth, visibility and success of our members. We serve as an advocate, representative, and educator for businesses within the community of Del Ray in Alexandria, Virginia. In addition, the Association undertakes special programs, neighborhood improvement projects, and promotional events. Many of these events have become neighborhood traditions such as First Thursdays, Art on the Avenue, the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5-mile race, the Halloween Parade, and the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Visit Alexandria
Visit Alexandria is a membership-based 501(c)(6) organization that prides itself on strong ties to the Alexandria business and tourism communities. Visitors to Alexandria, Virginia from at least 50 miles away spend $826 million annually, resulting in over $27 million in local tax revenue.
Our work to support tourism to the City of Alexandria includes marketing, public relations, visitor services, meeting and group sales, the VisitAlexandriaVA.com website, social media, member services, the Official Alexandria Visitor Guide and Map, and tourism research.
