Art in Meditation - The ChakrasJoin us at Del Ray Artisans for Art in Meditation – the Chakras. This art exhibit celebrates the seven energy centers of the body, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. The seven chakras are associated with vibrations, moods, and colors, and are frequently used in yoga and meditation practices.

The exhibit is juried by contemporary artist Jeff Erickson, an abstract artist, based in Alexandria, Virginia. He uses oils and cold wax medium to create contemporary paintings anchored in nature. He exhibits in galleries primarily on the East Coast, and his work can be seen locally at Principle Gallery in Alexandria.

Meet the curators, Joyce A. Frank and Kitty Russell, and the artists at the opening reception on Friday, June 7 from 7-9pm. The exhibit includes an art-to-go marketplace, which will operate inside the gallery during regular gallery hours and in front of the gallery on Del Ray’s First Thursday celebration on June 6 and during the neighborhood Well Ray event on June 22.

Please also join us for the Summer Solstice Reception on Friday, June 21 from 7-9pm. In addition to these free activities, three special workshops are open for registration:
