Learn to use the camera that’s always with you and go beyond taking a simple snapshot to creating a photograph that is an artistic expression unique to your vision. We’ll start with the basics of learning to use a smartphone camera and review the settings for optimal image capture to pro tips and techniques of exposure, composition and focus that produce the best results. We’ll explore the Del Ray neighborhood and practice what we’ve learned.

Topics include:

• Proper techniques and settings for smartphone image capture
• Tips and techniques for using phone’s native camera
• Learn exciting capture and editing apps
• Hands-on capture and editing
• Image critique and feedback

Requirements:

• Participants will need to bring a fully charged smartphone.
• Charger designed for that smart phone as batteries can drain quickly.
• Be able to walk 1 mile outside on uneven surfaces.
• Available space to store photographs on smartphone.
