Del Ray Artisans will have 24 hours of activity in our gallery on Spring2ACTion day, Wednesday, April 20, 2016. These events are for all ages, open to the public and FREE! Stop by, meet our diverse artists, visit our Creatures from the Sea exhibit and participate in these free activities throughout the day and evening:
- Midnight–5am – Virtual Gallery – Highlights a diverse group of artists; posts profiles on Facebook and Twitter all night long!
- 6–10am – Breakfast in the Gallery – Serving pastries, fruit, coffee, tea and inspiration! Starting at 8:30am, Jenny Nicholson, State Department Calligrapher and Protocol Officer, gives an artist talk & demonstration discussing how she incorporates art in her daily work.
- 11am–12pm – Yoga Session – David A. Kosar, a Del Ray Artisans member and certified yoga teacher, will lead a 1-hour yoga session. He has been teaching yoga and meditation techniques exclusively at Yoga in Daily Life since 2007.
- 12:30–1pm – Meditation Session – Nicole Radshaw will lead guided meditation among the Creatures from the Sea artworks—leaving you clear, refreshed, and inspired. She teaches yoga and meditation to adults and children at studios, schools and after school programs.
- 2–5pm – Life Drawing Session – Open to the public, with live clothed model. All skill levels are welcome to this FREE session. Just bring your sketchbook and pencils to participate.
- 6pm–Midnight – Evening Reception – Artist Talk and demonstration by Guy G. Jones at 8:30pm; wine tasting selection from Crystal City Wine Shop; appetizers from Whole Foods; bedhead photo booth, music, raffle, and—to top it off—dessert from Alexandria Cupcake!

Normal gallery hours are: Thursdays 12-6pm, Fridays 12-9pm, Saturdays 12-9pm, and Sundays 12-6pm. The gallery is free, open to the public and handicap accessible.
