December 8, 2015 – “All aBoard” Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

“All aBoard” exhibit (February 5-28, 2016) takes patrons on a journey around Del Ray Artisans gallery to view works of eight Board members: Ron Blank, Michele Reday Cook, Kim S. Joy, Stephen Lally, Marlin Lord, Elizabeth Guerry Mead, Kathy Turner, and Joan Woodill.

December 8, 2015 – Open Life Drawing Sessions – 2016

Looking for a chance to hone your figure drawing skills? Del Ray Artisans offers a range of open life drawing sessions for just this purpose. Both nude and clothed models are featured.

November 15, 2015 – Del Ray Artisans’ Holiday Market 2015

Del Ray Artisans 20th Annual Holiday Market features handcrafted work from local artists (wall art, botanical, pottery, photography, jewelry, glass, and more), plus poinsettias, ornaments, and 2016 calendars to support the gallery. Different artists are featured each weekend! Open the first three weekends in December. Hours: Fridays 6-9pm, Saturdays and Sundays 11am-6pm.

November 12, 2015 – “True Colors: Like a Rainbow” Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

Del Ray Artisans’ artists interpret colors of the rainbow. Show runs January 8-31, 2016. Come enjoy the artwork and mingle with the artists at the Opening Reception on January 8, 2016 from 7-9pm at Del Ray Artisans gallery. Don’t miss the January workshops on wire jewelry, polymer clay, resin, and paper flowers!

September 29, 2015 – “Under $100: Affordable Masterpieces” Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

Artists showcase affordable artwork for $100 or less. This is an opportunity for art patrons to collect and own a precious piece of art at a pocketbook-friendly price and take it with them at time of purchase. Opening Reception: Friday, November 6 from 7-9pm. Closed Thanksgiving Day. Black Friday Shopping Reception: November 27 from 6-9pm.

September 23, 2015 – Halloween Costume Party at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

Halloween Costume Party (Saturday, October 31, 8pm-midnight). Attend in your finest costumery! The “Queen of the Ball” (curator) will award badges of honor to those in her favorite costumes. Mingle with monsters, festive music, finger foods and (of course) candy.

September 8, 2015 – VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital Art Show—a Del Ray Artisans’ Gallery Without Walls Exhibit

VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital Art Show features animal-themed artwork by Del Ray Artisans members at the VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital (2660 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA). The artwork is on display in waiting areas and examination rooms. The exhibit runs August 30, 2015-January 31, 2016.

August 26, 2015 – “Skeletons: Exploring Under the Surface” at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

This art exhibit (October 2 – November 1) explores what is under the surface, the framework, the understructure. Come experience the artwork that digs deeper and discover what is ‘under there’, literally and figuratively. Opening Reception: Friday, October 2, 7-9pm.

August 12, 2015 – “Thanks Y’all” art exhibit marks the 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina

On the upcoming anniversary of Katrina, The Arts, Hancock County is presenting a special exhibit called Thanks Y’all, inviting Del Ray Artisans and various groups around the country who reached out with helping hands after the disaster. This exhibit will take place among a cluster of commemorative events in the adjacent towns of Bay St. Louis, Waveland, and Gulfport, Mississippi on August 28 and 29.

July 24, 2015 – "ALTARS: Religious Rituals" Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

Del Ray Artisans and Art Latin American Collective Project teamed up to present this unique artistic challenge to their members. Come to the exhibit to view artists’ interpretations of literal and figurative altars in ceremonies worldwide. Opening Reception: Friday, September 4 from 7-9pm.

July 16, 2015 – “Au Naturel” at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

June 8, 2015 – Grown-Ups Art Camp (GUAC) at Del Ray Artisans

37 workshops & events at Del Ray Artisans (June 29 – July 17, 2015) – from playing with resin to polymer clay; from creating a monotype or paper masterpiece to learning how to tango. Sign up for as many workshops as you want! Come see the instructors’ art exhibit; and browse the art supplies sale.

June 7, 2015 – 2015 Summer Art Camp for Youth at Del Ray Artisans

Del Ray Artisans invites youth ages 8-14 for a one-week art camp (July 20-24 or July 27-31) with professional instruction, followed by a one-day gallery show. All art supplies, lunch, and snacks are provided.

June 7, 2015 – Del Ray Artisans’ “Under a Summer Sun” Art Exhibit at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter

May 25, 2015 – “Building Altars” Workshop at Del Ray Artisans on June 27

The “Building Altars” mixed-media workshop with artist Lori K. Gordon is on Saturday, June 27, 9:30am-5pm, at Del Ray Artisans. May 10, 2015 – “Bridging Worlds” Artist’s Talk with Lori K. Gordon at Del Ray Artisans on June 4

Hear about Lori K. Gordon’s personal journey as an artist in the ten years since Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast. Learn about her exhibitions and workshops, along with her incredible journey across continents, from Mississippi to Morocco, Six Degrees Consortium, and her art cafĂ© in Marrakech. Free event.

Del Ray Artisans’ Spring Art Market offers original artwork from over 25 artists working in ceramics, photography, jewelry, fiber, paper, and glass. One day only! Saturday, May 9 from 10am-4pm, rain or shine.

April 5, 2015 – “Building Bridges”, a Juried Art Exhibit between Del Ray Artisans and Six Degrees Consortium

“Building Bridges” juried art exhibit at Del Ray Artisans gallery runs June 5-28, 2015. The exhibit is in partnership with Six Degrees Consortium, founded by Lori K. Gordon. Del Ray Artisans members and Mississippi Gulf Coast artists interpret the building of bridges between peoples and cultures. Opening Reception: Friday, June 5 from 7-9pm. Artist’s Talk: First Thursday, June 4 at 7pm. Building Altars Workshop: Saturday, June 27.

April 2, 2015 – Kids Pinwheel Making Event at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

Del Ray Artisans is teaming up with SCAN VA (Stop Child Abuse Now) for Child Abuse Awareness Month. Drop in to Del Ray Artisans gallery on Saturday, April 11, 10am-12pm to design and make pinwheels. SCAN uses pinwheels as the symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention. Children of all ages with an adult are welcome.

March 26, 2015 – Secrets of the Paper Garden: Spring Flower Workshops at Del Ray Artisans gallery

Join us for two different “Secrets of the Paper Garden” workshops at Del Ray Artisans gallery on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2015. Artist Debbie Smith Mezzetta will teach you the basics of transforming delicate Italian papers into realistic floral arrangements. Saturday’s workshop focuses on bouquets; and Sunday’s on wreaths. No experience necessary.

March 26, 2015 – Trace Monotype Workshop at Del Ray Artisans gallery

Join us for the Trace Monotype Workshop at Del Ray Artisans gallery on Saturday, May 16 from 10am-Noon. Artist Katherine Rand will teach you the basics of this printmaking technique that transforms line drawings into prints with unique textural effects. No experience necessary.

March 22, 2015 – “MIX: Adventures in Mixed Media” Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

Del Ray Artisans and Artistic Artifacts collaborate to present this juried, multi-medium exhibit that promises to “SHAKE UP” the imagination and explore the mixed media art movement. February 26, 2015 – 18th Annual Student Art Exhibition at Del Ray Artisans Gallery

Del Ray Artisans and the T.C. Williams High School Art Department present the 18th Annual Student Art Exhibition, featuring artwork from T.C. Williams High School students, with special recognition given to members of the National Art Honor Society. Opening reception: Friday, April 10 from 7-9pm. Silent auction benefits the Ted Eichers Scholarship Fund.

February 22, 2015 – “Art and Story”, a Del Ray Artisans Art Exhibit at the Shirlington Public Library

Del Ray Artisans’ Gallery Without Walls program presents artworks illustrating the power of art and story, with a portion of each sale benefiting the Friends of Shirlington Library and Del Ray Artisans. Exhibit runs March 29 through April 26, 2015 at the Shirlington Library, 4200 Campbell Avenue, Arlington VA.

February 5, 2015 – “Paws ‘N Claws for Art” Del Ray Artisans art exhibit at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter

Del Ray Artisans and Animal Welfare League of Alexandria teamed up to present this animal-themed, fundraising exhibit, also featuring UpCycle’s Fur-Vor project community-based student-recycled dog art. Reception: Friday, February 27, 7-9pm. Exhibit runs February 21-May 31, 2015 at Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, 4101 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria.

January 29, 2015 – “DREAM ON!” Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans

Local area artists express their dreams through their art. Opening reception: Friday, March 6, 7-9pm. Show runs March 6-29, 2015. Dream On Pajama Party (Saturday, March 14, 7-10pm)—a fun-filled evening at Del Ray Artisans with raffles and prizes! Free to those who wear pajamas; $5 each for those who don’t.
