Looking for a chance to hone your figure drawing skills? Del Ray Artisans offers a range of open life drawing sessions for just this purpose. Just drop-in for the session and bring your supplies to draw or paint our live models. Fee ranges from $8-$12. All skill levels are welcome. November 3, 2013 – Del Ray Artisans’ 2013 Holiday Market
18th annual Holiday Market at Del Ray Artisans offers handmade work from local artists, handmade ornaments, and Bake Sale items to benefit Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. Free admission. Three weekends only: December 6-8, December 13-15, December 20-22. Fridays 6-9pm (reception), Saturdays 10am-4pm, Sunday 12-4pm. Different artists are featured each weekend, so come each weekend!
November 2, 2013 – “Primary Colors” Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans
Opening with an artist reception on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 7-10pm is Primary Colors at Del Ray Artisans’ gallery. This all area artist show kicks off the New Year with an artistic challenge to create artwork using only the three primary colors: red, yellow, and blue. In conjunction with the exhibit, come to the movie night on Saturday, January 18 at 7pm featuring Primary Colors, a 1998 drama based on the novel Primary Colors: A Novel of Politics.
October 1, 2013 – Del Ray Dozen Invitational Photography Show at Del Ray Artisans
Del Ray Artisans is pleased to announce the return of the “Del Ray Dozen Invitational Photography Show” running from November 1 through December 1, 2013. Come to the opening reception on Friday, November 1, from 7-10pm—and prepared to be WOW-ed! The reception will include a silent auction of photography pieces created by “the Dozen.”
September 3, 2013 – Outrageous “Del-Ray-geous” Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans
Curators Lesley Hall and Dawn Wyse Hurto gathered artwork from Del Ray Artisans members about Del Ray and community—focused on the outrageous, fun, exciting, and unique—to construct the “Del-Ray-geous” art exhibit at Del Ray Artisans. The exhibit will run from October 4-27, 2013, with an Opening Reception on Friday, October 4 (7-10pm) and a Closing Reception with awards on Sunday, October 27 (3-6pm).
August 4, 2013 – “One Percent” Art Exhibit at Del Ray Artisans
This all-area artist show at Del Ray Artisans gallery is about defining and depicting the 1% of anything each artist chose in a representational, abstract, or symbolic form in any media (2D/3D). The opening reception is on Friday, September 6 from 7-10pm. The show runs September 6-29, 2013.
July 4, 2013 – Anything Goes, Del Ray Artisans 2013 Board Showcase Opens August 2nd
Celebrating a decade-long tradition, the Del Ray Artisans Board of Directors is pleased to present Anything Goes, the 10th Annual Board Showcase, from August 2 through September 1, 2013. The show features artwork from Board members Michele Reday Cook, Susan Amber Gordon, Lesley Hall, John Hiller, Nora Partlow, Betty Plummer, and Stacy Rausch.
June 4, 2013 – Art Camp 2013 for Kids at Del Ray Artisans
Del Ray Artisans invites young campers ages 8-14 years old to spend a week creating art with professional artist instruction. Artists Through the Ages is the theme of Del Ray Artisans’ Art Camp 2013 and features art exploration through art history, historic time periods and themes, and influential artists.
