December 10, 2012 – Dot and Dash Art Exhibit Opens February 1, 2013
Getting back to the basics: dot and dash. Artists deconstruct their individualized art-making processes to interpret the theme in their unique styles—showcasing two and three-dimensional work that is painterly, graphic, realistic, and abstract. Opening reception February 1, 7-10 pm. Exhibit runs February 1-24, 2013.

October 8, 2012 – Del Ray Artisans Holiday Market 2012
Del Ray Artisans 17th annual Holiday Market offers handmade work from local artists and Bake Sale to benefit Computer CORE. This year, the Holiday Market is open for 3 weekends: Nov 30 – Dec 2, Dec 7-9, and Dec 14-16. Different artists each weekend! Fridays 6-9pm (reception), Saturdays 10am-4pm, Sundays 12-4pm. September 14, 2012 – Telling Images: Stories without Words, a juried photography exhibition
“Telling Images” photography exhibition at Del Ray Artisans gallery runs November 2–25, 2012. The jurors are John H. Brown, Jr., and E. Brady Robinson. Come see this show, expecting to see a variety of techniques and interpretations of stories without words. Jurors will offer a gallery talk on November 3 at 4pm and portfolio reviews on November 17.
August 10, 2012 – Sweet ‘n Salty art exhibit
Artists were asked to “give in to their cravings” to create dynamic and interesting interpretations of this very tasty theme. Reception is October 5 from 7-10pm. Show runs October 5-28. Events include a poetry reading, movie night and Halloween Social Hour.
July 8, 2012 – It Runs in the Family art exhibit
Do we make art because we grew up in families that encouraged creativity or did we inherit the creativity gene? Interpreting “family” very loosely, Del Ray Artisans asked area artists to show us their artistic heritage by submitting a collection of their family’s artworks. Reception September 7 from 7-10pm. Runs September 7-30.
June 25, 2012 – Boarderlines, Del Ray Artisans Board Showcase
Del Ray Artisans presents Boarderlines, an art exhibit showcasing work by six members of the Board of Directors: Kathryn A. Brown, Drew Cariaso, Michele Reday Cook, Lesley Hall, Dawn Wyse Hurto, and Nora Partlow. The exhibit is a journey across “boarders” and features a silent auction, gallery artwork, and take-away art. Runs August 3 – September 2, 2012.
May 23, 2012 – Show: Hot! Hot! Hot!
What comes to mind when you hear: “Hot! Hot! Hot!”? The surface of the sun, steamy dances, ice melting on the sidewalk… That’s just what we asked area artists to do. April 8, 2012 – Art on the Edge – All-media, All-DC Area Artist Show
Del Ray Artisans (DRA) is pleased to announce Art on the Edge, an all-media art show featuring DC-area artists. It’s Del Ray Artisans’ own “fringe festival.” Artists explore and create “edgy” images, photographs, 3D constructions, or sculpture inspired by their outer creative limits and perhaps drawn from sports, clothes, music, art, performance, food, lifestyle, violent nature, animals, living spaces and so on, led by their imaginations.
April 7, 2012 – T.C. Williams High School Art Department’s 15th Annual Student Art Show
Del Ray Artisans and the T.C. Williams High School Art Department jointly present the 15th Annual Student Art Show at the Del Ray Artisans gallery. The exhibit will feature the work of members of the National Art Honor Society (NAHS).
February 24, 2012 – Don’t Miss Del Ray Artisans Childhood Memories Show, Plus a Special Clay Portrait Workshop
Childhood memories are often the inspiration for art. Memories are endless: an experience, a trip, a gathering, an animal, a poem, a person or a place that brings one back to a childhood memory. Works by artists in this show are inspired by their childhoods. Show exhibits April 6-29; opening reception April 6, 7-10 p.m.
