Register now for the 2017 Del Ray Artisans Youth Summer Art Camp! Youth ages 8-14 years old are invited to spend a week with professional educational staff at Del Ray Artisans creating art and architecture, learning a range of creative techniques. Art Camp is a one-week experience for campers of “Building BIG” using all kinds of materials and inspiration. To build big, we will be investigating different architecture from near and far; learning how materials, texture, form, and design come together to make memorable structures. Working with cardboard, paint, clay, and other natural materials, our ideas will have no bounds!
Choose either week one (July 17-21, 2017) or week two (July 24-28, 2017). Camp is Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm daily, and costs $300 per child until June 1. After June 1 the fee is $325 per child. Scholarships may be available upon request. All art supplies and snacks are provided. There will also be a special, one-day only, gallery show on the Saturday following camp (July 22 for week one campers and July 29 for week two campers) to show off students’ work. The reception is from 1-3pm and is a great chance for campers, family, and friends to talk to the Art Camp Administrator, Susan Tremblay, and other students about their experience.
Art Camp and the gallery show will be at Del Ray Artisans gallery in the Nicholas A. Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301. The gallery is handicap accessible.
