Dip into some GUAC – Grown Ups Art Camp, that is! Del Ray Artisans is excited to present this year’s smorgasbord of classes. The variety of workshops offered will be for all skills levels. If you haven’t indulged your creative side, you can start with drawing, painting and sculpture. Or, do you like jewelry? We offer five classes that give you the opportunity to make something to wear that you can take home. Our two polymer clay classes might also appeal to you. Do you have thoughts that crowd your mind? Try art journaling. If you’re the type that accumulates art supplies and other things around your house, we have classes that range from mixed media to using recycled materials to art book making. How about taking a break from the digital world and explore film camera photography? AND, if you love animals, come make your favorite pet’s portrait in glass. Hand dancing and Improv offers you the opportunity to break out of the studio and get physical. Or design your very own Doodle Sneakers to wear while you play! Already engaging in art but need to focus on the “Business of Art”? Come to our workshops on tax information, websites, and applications packets for artists.
GUAC runs from June 27 to July 15 with daytime and evening classes taught by REAL artists! It’s a great creative boost and a fun, interactive activity for you and your friends. Workshops are held at Del Ray Artisans Gallery in the Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia 22301. Regular gallery hours are suspended for the month of July. The gallery is open to the public and handicap accessible.
