March Melee – an Art Bash

Opening Reception: Friday, March 4 from 7-9pm
Show Dates: March 4–27, 2016

March Melee – an Art Bash exhibit runs from March 4-27, 2016 at Del Ray Artisans gallery. Join us for the opening reception on Friday, March 4 from 7-9pm. The curators present creatively aggressive artwork in this no-holds-barred show. This open call exhibit is a bold show with art of great diversity competing for your attention. Melee implies a brawl and malarkey means nonsense, so let those terms guide your expectations. Consider Roald Dahl’s words, “A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest [wo]men.”

In conjunction with the March Melee exhibit, we invite you to these events:

  • ‘Build a Beast’ textile workshop on Monday, March 7, 6-9pm – Learn how to construct a fantasy creature from your own doodles. Workshop fee: $10 members / $15 non-members. Materials fee: $5.
  • Generative Digital Art program on Monday, March 14, 7-8pm – The cutting edge of today’s modern art, presentation by computer engineer and artist Cameron Turner. Program fee: $5 members / $10 non-members.
  • Silly Hat Making workshop on Monday, March 21, 6-9pm – Put on your thinking cap and get creative if you’d like to make a fanciful Easter bonnet or a wacky April Fools Day chapeau. Workshop fee: $10 members / $15 non-members. Materials fee: $5.
